PinPointWeather App Reviews
If you like smiling suns and cartoon clouds, then this weather app might not be for you. But if want more detail in your forecasts, then this app gives it to you in a different, but easy to understand format. At first it might seem like a stange way to look at a forecast, but after you use if for a while you realize that it has all of the information you need packaged in a way that is easy to grasp. Plus it allows you to see any hazardous weather conditions like storm warnings. Give it a try.
Great App that is perfect for a quick look at the upcoming weather. Would like to see the ability to get a text forecast besides just the weather alerts.
This early version is very sophisticated, and it allows you to customize your display for the best ease of use for YOUR purposes. The graphical presentation is extremely easy to "grasp," and you get to see a weeks worth of "prediction" to compare to the present numbers. The developer responds almost immediately to questions ..... and has plans for some NEAT enhancements for upcoming iterations. THIS IS THE ONE that you are looking for ..... honest! You can find much more simplistic visuals -- but youll NEVER get the details that you choose and use!
I am a meteorologist, have been using this app for a couple of months. It is the best single display of MOS (for single sites) that I have seen. Wind speed display is not quite as good as in the NWS hourly forecast, but still good. Otherwise, Pinpoint is where I go for a quick wx forecast summary of the major variables.going out a week, including a very good QPF/POP/cloud cover graphic display.
Just stopped working
Was a really great app, but yesterday it just stopped working. Graph but no values.
I like this app, its how I think, much clearer presentation of information, Im surprised this isnt how most weather apps are laid out, good price too, I hope they add it it in time, I like it that the graphs are based on raw data from NOAA, Ild get it if I were you, obviously . . .
I was looking for a program that did the weather differently. Though this one is some what confusing. I am smart enoughg to figure things out, and with noaas website, this wouldnt take me long. I have an understanding of what everything means. Im just a little bit confused about the cloud graph. Aside that I know what the rest of it means.
This app does a great job at rapidly displaying local weather data. I wish the UI and type-handling reflected this... The presentation gets kinda sloppy when you turn it all on. However, I believe this app has a lot of life in it, and will undoubtly get better!
This app has great potential as a source for quick and ad-free continuous over time "hourly" forecast data. This program will come in handy when finding what days are best for doing stuff in the backyard, and predicting weather conditions like amount of rain, snow, or fog. The high resolution of the forecast grid will also be handy in determining detailed forecasts for regions outside the scope of city, state, or zip code forecasts for at least the United States. I tried entering some random-ish numbers in the Latitude and Longitude grid and it did not accept them, but small variations seem to work. The forecast grid must be limited to the United States. Overall great program for what its designed to do, but since there isnt a huge amount of innovation, I gave it 4 stars.
